The stuffit engine does a wonderful job of extracting compressed files, zip, tar, sit, & sea. I've had no problems with this program at all and I highly recommend it if you need these features. (kind of like 'quick look' on OS X Leopard). The Deluxe version adds the ability to make your own self-extracting compressed files to send, and well as to archive. The magic menu integrates nicely in your menu bar. This version allows you to view archived files without having to extract them. Your compressed files also can be encrypted with very strong password protection for safe keeping or transfer. Compresses photos and music to fit on a CD or DVD that otherwise wouldn't fit.
