Star Wars Lego I: The Video Game Reviews
behold. While investigating reasons behind my computer's tendency to reboot and/or freeze without warning. Great game. My son and I have had fun with it. Thanks for screwing up my computer LucasArts. Lego games come with SecuROM DRM.
HIghly Reccommend this game. I decided to buy for my house.
I saw this game at my cousin's house. These clips are like the movie.
You get to play through Episodes 1-3. You get to buy characters.
The funniest part is the movie clips. I cannot wait for Lego Star Wars 2.
I have a good Nivda card that runs with no problems. I enjoy this game.
Needless to say, my son is very disappointed.HUGE waste of money. Have not been able to use since our computer does not have the appropriate hardware (computer is 2 years old) so we will need to purchase an upgrade for the pixels for a mere $[.].
This will save you and your child some heart ache. My youngest son now is 6 years old and heavily into Star Wars so I reinstalled both games on the same laptop and desktop computers. The Lego Star Wars 2 game recognized the 360 controller without problems and mapped the buttons without intervention. Both installed without issues. My 6 year old absolutely loves both games. I'm considering the Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman games but have some concerns about the DVD emulator issue (copy protection) as I have an external DVD burner for my desktop and laptop. I just wanted to share some experiences that I had with both Lego Star Wars and Lego Star Wars 2.
You may find a used controller at your local Gamestop store. only keyboard control was available. Desktop: 1.8 Ghz, 768 MB RAM, 256 MB VRAM Nvidia FX5500 discrete graphics card. The intel integrated chip is limited in its capability.
My desktop computer initially recognized the controller but I accidently selected default in the controller section (distracted by kids) and controls reverted back to keyboard. I have to mention the button mapping on the Xbox controller is slightly different between the Lego star Wars and Lego Star Wars 2 but it is acceptable and my son adjusted accordingly. The wired Xbox 360 controller was purchased at a local retailer for $40 but Amazon had it on sale for about $30. The controller wasn't recognized properly on my laptop installation i.e. I ended up buying a wired Xbox 360 controller because I read that it was more compatible and supported more PC games. I had a flight joy stick that was recognized by the games and he used that to control the characters. Better quality than a PS2 or PS3 controller.
needed the immediate gratification. I did a bit of searching on the internet and discovered the problem is deleting the file, SWLEGO.BIN, in the directory of the Lego Star Wars game and then the game will recognize the Xbox 360 controller. Both games were purchased for my older son when he was around 7 years old and he absolutely enjoyed the games.
It did take a bit of time but the installations were without problems. My wife had concerns about my youngest son using the keyboard control and carpal tunnel (he didn't have the strength/coordination to use the flight joystick). If you have kids and plan on buying a computer, don't be cheap and spend the extra money on a dedicated graphics card. I'm running the game on lower resolution on both computers and they work fine. Both games installed without problems. Both Lego Star Wars and Lego Star Wars 2 are excellent games and I highly recommend them. I have to mention the 360 controller was of good quality with a long USB cord. Spend the $30-$40 for the wired Xbox 360 controller.
Last thing, my computer specs. The game would not recognize the 360 controller after that mistake. Having the Xbox controller certainly brings a new level of game play and control to the game. I purchased both games some years ago so I'm not sure what the disk 1 issue is about from the other posts.
Both computers are Pentium 4s and they are very very old system (desktop 2001 and laptop 2004). The keyboard control is confusing and not conducive to game play. The Lego Star Wars game was a bit different. Eventually he outgrew the game and I uninstalled the games from both laptop and desktop computers.
Good luck. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the Lego Star Wars game but the same problem. Laptop: 3.4 Ghz, 1GB RAM, 256 MB VRAM ATI 9800 Mobility discrete graphics card. keyboard control only for the desktop computer.
Funny, my neighbor has Vista and it works fine there. I bought one for our house and it will not work on our computer - which is new, has all the gaming "stuff" necessary, but runs on Vista. My son plays this game at a neighbor's house and loves it. The company support says, "Sorry, it doesn't always work on Vista.".
