It turned out Huey dosen't WORK in Intel-based MAC.what kind the program doesn't work on Intel-based MAC. Went to the system preference, wanna play with the Huey preference. i thought coz i'm too stuck in my previous screen color. when i calibrated my mac book, it's quite okay, but looks a bit blue.
I guess I'll have to spend more to get a version that supports dual monitors. Pros:. It was easy, well laid out in the instructions, and about as simple as I can imagine it being. I found this out after purchasing it and was very disappointed that it cannot adjust my second monitor. Fussy.
It's important to me that what is displayed on my monitor translates to what comes out the printer. All I had to do was install the software (which curiously prompts you to restart after installation even thought it is not necessary. However, it will NOT make your cheap LCD into a high quality one. Very thin. I have a dual monitor set-up and do a lot of graphics and photography work. If you want accurate colors, calibration is only part of the equation. You cannot expect a cheap LCD to reproduce color as accurately as a quality LCD.
Cheapish USB wire. The software prompts a calibration every two weeks or so, and if you decline, it prompts you again the next day. Reading some of the older, negative reviews, it's pretty clear that Pantone has VASTLY improved their software. I bought a Huey to use for calibrating my work LCDs. Cannot adjust more than one monitor at a time. Overall, it does what it should, and I'm happy enough with it. I've verified this on several other computers in my office), stick the Huey to the center of the screen, and a few minutes later, the screen is accurately colored. I ran the calibration MANY times and every time got the same result. After a couple of hours, I put everything back in the box and sent it back for a refund. I received my huey earlier this week, installed the software, and ran a calibration on my iMac G5 (OS 10.4). The screen turned pinkish.
Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Gives me a feeling of confidence that monitor is calibrated.
Pantone is in the process of replacing this unit with an upgrade which, hopefully will solve the problem. I understand this product is being taken off the market until their situation is resolved.
