Norton 360 [OLD VERSION] Reviews
That is false. My biggest complaint is that once the "virus update" expires. I have heard of complaints that it will crash your system the day it expires. This is the worst product EVER. PLUS A pop-up comes up everyday twice a day begging me to buy another year subscription. It slows your system down so much that I had to disable most of the features, which an average user will not know how to do. Once a year is up.
you might as well throw it in the trash OR give it to someone else OR wipe your hard drive and install a fresh copy. I am not happy with it at all. NOTE: You must uninstall any anti-virus software if you are installing a different brand. I couldn't even go in and make simple changes to the settings, nothing to do with the virus update feature. Uninstalling any Norton products are difficult and you should find a good article on the internet on how to do this. I have been an avid Norton Symantec user for over 13 years.
it renders the entire software useless. What they are really asking is that I buy the software again. I will never buy any anti-virus or internet security software from this company again.
I do like the features better than other security systems I've tried, however. It does impact startup and shutdown speed. It more than tripled the time it takes for the computer to shut down once you click the shut down button (Windows XP). Over all a great product.
I mean this was a buy you can not refuse. The price could not have been any cheaper. I shopped untill I dropped. Works well with basic Vista platform. Recieved this item in original box. ANYWHERE and I mean anywhere.
After I did so I lost the use of my laptop for about 4 days. I had already removed the program from my other machine because it blocked me from connecting to my ipod, pda and many online functions. I AM NOT GOING TO TAKE THE CHANCE. It slowed down so much that it took 4-6 HOURS to boot up and about the same amount of time to shut down.
Perhaps the problems have been corrected in Version 2. I wish I could have given this steaming pile of bits no stars. Not severely so, until the program started to nag me to renew my subscription. I installed Norton 360 on two computers.
It slowed down both of them. After determining that Norton could be the problem it took me almost 18 hours to delete the program.
McAfee Anti-Virus software was easy to install. Their customer service is terrible and very hard to reach. I purchased an on-line anti-virus subscription, had difficulty installing it, got fed up and went to McAfee. Go with McAfee and avoid Symantec.
Symantec refuses to give me a refund. It's in India and if you aren't a "preferred" customer you will wait at least 30 minutes. I know because I've timed it. Their customer service personnel were very helpful.
Kurt Helmig Symantec (seller of Nortaon Anti-Virus products) is not a reputable company.
