NetObjects Fusion 7 Reviews
I upgraded from version 3 to 5 and then to 7. Even though it is out of date now, I am still using it and it has been great for my site. I have more than 150 pages at my site, with downloads on many pages, links to hundreds of photos and graphics, and even videos. I have been using this software since it was first released. It took me awhile to learn how to use it and I am sure there are features I have not yet explored, but I am glad I purchased it.
As a long time user of NetObjects 4.0 I found the 7.0 version much improved and more user friendly manual wise. I've been designing websites since 1999 and wouldn't think of using anything but NetObjects for my projects. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand the 7.0 version, merely a novice web designer.
(Hand smacking forehead) While this option can probably be turned off or adjusted, I am forced to dive into help menus to understand the "characteristics" of this program. I'm tired of trying to figure out the thinking behind NetObjects Fusion V7.5 and will keep searching for another web page development program. To me this has a moderate learning curve.
:(. I have tried working with V7.5 for the past couple months and have not been satisfied with the integration of the features. After importing an already existing site, it inserted a template format over all the pages.
I thought I was beyond the noob position but this program put me right back at the beginning. Maybe version 7 was simple to use. It does have some nice aspects but if I have difficulty doing simple stuff, the complex features don't matter.
I've designed some simple pages over the years from share and freeware programs, the last using Namo Webeditor V4.
This is nothing like FrontPage. This is going to take some time to learn and get use to. I am a little discouraged, but will give it more time. Maybe I will write a better review once I get to know what in the hell I'm doing. Nothing what I expected. I learned to build web pages with FrontPage 2000. I'm seriously thinking I should have upgraded to Frontpage 2003.
NOF 7 will never replace them, but it sure has done a remarkable job of getting people like me up to speed quickly and painlessly in designing websites. Beam me up Scotty, I've seen enough. The program also delves into the deeper aspects of HTLM and what not, so it is a program that you can develop your skills with. This is an excellent source of literaly hundreds of different website designs that you can use straight out of the box or munipulate and change to your hearts content. I was planning to put up a website in a few months or so. Check often for updates and fixes as the company is constantly trying to make their product better.
NOF 7 allows you to import graphics and backgrounds which makes customization a breeze. I can understand the angst of some of the professional website builders. I hit the jackpot. I've played around with it for about a week now and am thoroughly impressed with the ease in which a website can be developed. I looked at many of the "standards" out there such as EasyWeb and a truckload of others until I stumbled upon NetObjects Fusion 7. They say 10 minutes, but I like to take my time with these sort of things.
When a program comes along that is this easy and inexpensive to use, I would probably feel a little uneasy as well if I were in their shoes. Set a course for NetObjects Fusion 7.") but in fact, it is a feature filled program that will get you up and running with your first web design in less than half an hour. NetObjects Fusion 7 sounds like a planet that Capt.Kirk might visit in Star Trek, ( "Ahead warp factor 4, Sulu. It turns out it wasn't a gamble at all. Netobjects Fusion 7 is a great program. I also purchased the SiteStyles Vol. 1 add on. This version was selling at a great price and I thought the gamble was worth it.
You can also customize these templates or start from scratch and make your own designs. The program has many templates that are ready made to use. The problems I have in doing this are: 1) I don't know a HTML from a hole in the wall, 2) I don't want to get Frontpage or Dreamweaver and totally lose my sanity and cash, and 3) It was very hard finding a web design program that was user friendly and powerful as well. The instruction manual guides you through each step of developing your own web page with many hints and tips.
