Jim Archer

Richard Topham

Emily Crandall

Jane Willoughby

Jim is a good-natured, but secretly desperate, businessman trying to make it through the end of the Depression. The bank he owns is teetering on the brink of failure. Jim has been helpful to Emily and her mom, but he?s desperate for money. How far would he go to save his bank?

Richard is a self-proclaimed expert on ESP and telekinesis and lives in the house that once belonged to Josiah Crowley. How did he inherit Josiah?s estate and money? He runs the ?School for the Study and Development of Paranormal Powers,? but is his act just a hoax?

Emily runs the Lilac Inn with the help of her guardian while she mourns the recent loss of her mother. She is plagued by strange occurrences: objects on the wall move, whispers call from shadows, things mysteriously disappear and then reappear. Is Emily just stressed out or are things really amiss?

Gloria Crandall, Emily's mother, asked Jane to look after her daughter in case anything happened to her. She's doing her best to help Emily, but she doesn't know much about raising kids or running an inn.  Could Jane have a hidden agenda?

Nancy Drew: Secret Of the Old Clock Reviews

While it's a little short the game, it's very fun to play, and it was great to see Nancy in the past, where she started. However you do have Nancy's cool car, and can drive around town in it. You have to find out what's going on at the Inn, with all the weird happenings. Her mother has passed away, and Emily is left in the care of her mother's friend. The Secret of the Old Clock is based on the very first Nancy Drew book, by the same name.

The game starts off with Nancy visiting her friend Emily, whose mother owned Liliac Inn. As a result, the game itself is set in the 1930's, so no cellphone or computer for Nancy this time. The Inn is wonderful to explore, as are the other parts of town. There are some fun mini-games to play, and puzzles to work out. I found the game to be very enjoyable, and visually it's beautiful.

Would have taken a lot longer if not for the hints web site. Pretty good game. Never did get par on the golf course.

This one was quite easier than the others as well. I liked working for money but the game was really shorter than the others I have played. I liked the game.

LOL. While I readily admit to having had "differences" with Nancy Drew manufacturers, and have been downright furious with them at times, this isn't one of them. I just wish that the mud puddles and the potholes in the road had their sounds captioned since they're important; I suffered several flat tires before I happened to turn the sound up and heard that those "spots on the screen" might have meaning. The game works perfectly, even with Vista, and without having to make the computer pretend it has XP. "Nancy Drew: Secret of the Old Clock" is open captioned, and, I might add, the captions are very nicely done. Even sounds, like phones ringing or explosions, are captioned, much like we expect from TV.

It really does pass the time. I'll be buying more of these for sure. I recommend getting the game guide or using the discussion boards at the publishers website. My only problem with the game is that sometimes you don't know what to do next. I really enjoyed playing this game. I guess they want you to try to talk to everyone and look at everything but some steps I completely missed until I went over the game guide.
