Music Studio 7 Reviews
As someone else mentioned, this stuff is pro-quality algorhythms for a VERY discounted price. As to the MP3 encoding limitation: Hey, they hit you up for $15 upgrade to encode in mp3. If you're crashing it, etc., figure out what you've got set up badly, what extra stuff you've got running, etc., because if an older laptop can run this without crashes, the sofware wasn't the problem. They already give you.wav files and other uncompressed options. and it sounded good enough to let people hear.
Bottom line. But most important are the sounds and effects. I recorded a rough demo on this software - THROUGH THE PINHOLE MIC in my laptop. This stuff is AWESOME. Big deal. Unlike the clumbersome Cakewalk, etc., this is set up the way a studio is set up, and works relatively intuitively.
At the time I figure it'd be a simple Windows recorder, since I'm a Mac guy who has Digital Performer. I didn't expect much. ENJOY. Use iTunes' free built in encoder if you like, but as cheap as this software goes for, even at list well under $100, quit complaining about a lousy $15. Digital Performer is several hundreds more and they hit ya up every time they do an UpDATE as if it were an upGRADE. I've used this software since finding it in a bargain bin at $7.
Upon receiving this product, I was shocked, it's essentially Samplitude Studio, and it has a full MIDI sequencer to boot, with some of the most realistic instrumentation I've ever heard. It doesn't record 96K audio (only up to 48K - perfectly suited for pro work), can't burn CD's directly from the timeline (who doesn't have alternate CD burning software these days. I have used Magix Samplitude in a professional studio setting, editing radio commercials and doing audio for video work. All in all, this is an incredible program that is mature, stable and has most if not all of the features of it's big brother Samplitude, which has become a staple in studio settings.I'm buying two more for my business. version of their pro audio program, Samplitude. This product is about three features short of the $1,700 (approx). When I first saw it, I thought, "They must have stripped the program bare, but at least it has the interface". - it's built into WinXP and others), and doesn't have a built in de-esser (which you can emulate with it's extensive EQ settings). It's incredible.
Definitely worth it's price not to mention the sample cd's. By the wayside. This will cause crashing, dropouts, and other bad assortments. Otherwise you will probably have problems like most of the other users writing reviews. Before buying audio software make sure your drivers are updated and well written specifically for the card. asio drivers will be very poor and your computer will overstack its buffers. This program is an older version of logic with cut-down logic-type vsti support.
Works great. If you have any doubts, download the demo from Magix and try it before you buy it (duh). Very fast on my 2.4GHz machine. I had absolutely no problems using my Audigy drivers under DX8.
You won't be sorry. They cost a whole lot more.but if you can afford it.get it.If not, look around for magix music studio 5 deluxe. I have a few more.this thing crashed more than a drunk pilot. O.k. Or just stay away and find a nice sonic foundry program. I was warned about 6 so i stayed away. Give this vampire the old wooden stake.
I wish i were warned about this one. DON'T BUY. I liked version 5 deluxe a heckuvalot better than this. DEFINITELY buy 5 over 6 or 7. It lagged and locked up on me so many times i'm going cross-eyed.
