It covers 95% of the material needed, I bought the core set, read both Net Admin and tech support books once, did some of the exercises them combined with the MCSE Readiness Review Work Station took the test and scored 933, then two weeks later bought the MSCE Readiness Review Server got a 966 on the test, I have to say what made it possible was the MCSE Readiness Review Books.
First, the book itself did a poor job in covering the many aspects of Windows NT 4. While it can bring a person who knows nothing of NT to knowing something, it presents hadly any new knowledge to users with even a little NT background. If you are looking for a book to purchase for preparation of a Microsoft exam for MCP or MCSE this one should be left out. It barely covered the most basic aspects and left out a great deal of NT. This book did not do what I had hoped it could coming from the makers of the operating system it covers. The CD-ROM included had some decent labs for beginners but there were not enough of them. Everything covered in this book can be easily found in just about any other book dealing with NT4.
Too many people out there out just concerned about passing the exam without really knowing how to perform hands on tasks. Many of the reviews here will tell you that it is not good for preparing for the exam, that's true. The book contains hands-on exercises for administering an NT network in a single domain. But it will give you great hands on experience that will help you on an NT exam. If you want to really know NT administration then this guide is for you. If you want a great training guide for NT administration, then this it.
This is a very good book for the beginners in the field of Network Administration. After you purchase Windows NT Technical Support. I recommend you to purchase this book before you purchase any other book in Network Administration field.
It comes with simulations, training video's, NT Server evaluation, and has a lot of complete and accurate information as well as labs. Just be sure to use the tech support training kit in addition to prepare you for 70-067 and 70-073. This is an excellent training kit.
