Had norton for 2 years, subscription just expired. uses minimal resources. Highly recommended. Even my non-techie wife asked me what I did to the computer because it was performing better. Puchased 2 years- 2 PCs, cheaper than Norton or McCafee. Installs quickly (any Norton User knows how long installs take).
menus, windows, programs open much faster. I could not believe how much faster my system runs now (old laptop P4 2.2 w 2Gram). I purchased NOD32 upon the recommnendation of a Help Desk Manager I know. Uninstalled norton and intalled this. even iTunes.
It is easy to update. The program does not get "in your face." After a week, there is nothing about this program that I do not like. This software is small, unobtrusive, and appears to be very effective. The Eset people really do seem to appreciate the fact that our computers exist as tools for us to do work (or play) with; not just to run antivirus programs. One of the problems with some antivirus solutions, e.g. The menus on this program seem fine to me. Norton, is that they interfere with things that they should not, take up an inordinate amount of system resources, etc.
NOD32 does not do these things, and I cannot detect any lesser degree of protection. I switched to Eset NOD32 Antivirus for my small business computers on the recommendation of my Information Technology consultant, and I am very glad that I did. It is very easy to tell this program which hard disks to scan. So far, this one is a winner, and the price is very competitive.
My husband had been using ESET for several months when my son's new computer's 90 day trial of Norton expired. So far we have been happy with it. Since my husband was happy with ESET and it was about 1/3 the cost of the other, I thought we would try it. It was simple to install and we haven't had any problems.
The interface is simple or complicated depending on how you want it setup. The Slovakians know how to make some good AV software. The small footprint allows gamers to leave it enabled at all times without bogging down your cpu. ESET's NOD32 AV product is by far the best AV software I have ever used. This should be your first and only choice for an AV solution.
It immediately found problems and continues to do so with my chosen action. I have used this in the past and love the new version. It is even easier to use.
