Ultimately, the report tools already included in most database and spreadsheet software is powerful enough. I have received reports made with Crystal, and they are often completely unusable because the person using the software did not know what they were doing. Crystal Reports is OK for serious professionals, but too complex for the average user. I won't go into all the basics, but if you need to read a customer review on Amazon to know if this software is for you, you should probably not be buying it.
